Turkey may resume deal with Russia on increased natural gas supply

Turkey may renew its deal with Russia for the supply of natural gas in an increased volume from the beginning of 2022, said Energy Minister Fatih Donmez.

According to him, the agreement on the deal with Russia has basically been reached, Reuters reports.

Turkey's record demand for natural gas this year is forcing it to ramp up purchases in the burgeoning spot market as it tries to renew long-term contracts expiring this winter.

Turkey last month signed a three-year agreement with Azerbaijan for 11 billion cubic meters of natural gas.
